5/5/17 New Release Roundup

Singles

Paramore – Told You So: This is the second single to be taken from Paramore’s upcoming ‘After Laughter’ album, and it is another great, poppy track with a great performance from Hayley on vocals. Shaping up to be a very promising album. 87%

Get Inuit – All My Friends: ‘All My Friends’ is an upbeat sounding single from Get Inuit, but the lyrics are far from happy. 75%

LCD Soundsystem – Call The Police: A great, but long, progressive comeback single from James Murphy and co. Despite being over 7 minutes long, the track manages to be engaging all the way through. 73%

Harry StylesSweet Creature: This is the second single from Harry’s debut, self titled album. Compared to first single ‘Sign of The Times’ this is a bit disappointing and dull, sounding like every other acoustic ballad out there. 50%

Haim – Want You Back: The first officially released single from Haim’s upcoming second album and it’s very very poppy, sounding like a cross between Haim’s first album and The 1975. 70%

Niall Horan –  Slow Hands: A change of pace compared to the first single from the Irish one off of One Direction and this track sounds like an Ed Sheeran reject. 20%

Albums/EPs

Blondie – Pollinator: The new album from Blondie is hit and miss. A few of the tracks sound over-produced and like parodies of old Blondie material, where as some tracks like ‘Long Time’ are genuinely fun. 50%       Best Track: Long Time

Lethal Bizzle – You’ll Never Make A Million From Grime EP: A great, fun EP from Lethal Bizzle. Opening track ‘I Win’ with Skepta is a great grime track, and the quality stays up there for the rest of the EP. 80%       Best Track: I Win

Mac Demarco – This Old Dog: Dull. 18%
